The RG is the most recognizable and distinctive guitar in the Ibanez line. Three decades of metal have forged this high-performance machine, honing it for both speed and strength. The RG852MPB features a poplar burl top on a basswood body bolted to a maple and wenge Ultra neck with a matching headstock and a 24-fret birdseye maple fretboard with black dot position markers. Components include a Gibraltar Standard II-8 fixed bridge, dual DiMarzio PAF 8 humbucking pickups, a Graph Tech TUSQ nut and Gotoh locking tuning machines.

A similar version with active EMG pickups, the RG852LW, was released in 2014 as was a model without the limba wood top and with the EMG pickups, the RG852.

ULTRA-8 NECK

A 5pc maple/wenge neck provides rock-solid stability for the increased tension of 8 strings.

GIBRALTAR STANDARD II-8 BRIDGE

The Gibraltar Standard II is a simple fixed bridge that was designed to unify with the guitar's body and provide optimal transfer of each string's vibration. A smooth surface is designed to maximize playing comfort.
